  • Alex

    Alex Delannoy

    Head Instructor / Owner / 1st Degree Black Belt

    Alex is currently a 1st degree black belt under Dan Covel, with multiple championship wins and accolades. Alex has over 20 years of grappling experience ranging from Jiu Jitsu, Judo, and Wrestling. After almost a decade of competing, Alex found his true passion is in teaching and coaching his students towards their individual goals. Alex is a firm believer that Jiu Jitsu is for everyone and caters his lessons and techniques for each individual. Alex is excited to get started working with you on your future goals.

    James Mevoglioni

    Instructor / Purple Belt

    James has almost 2 decades experience across many different striking and grappling martial arts. James is a Navy veteran with a passion for defensive tactics, striking, and firearms training programs for the military and local police departments. James is currently a purple belt in Brazilian jiu jitsu with multiple tournament and super fight wins. You’ll see James at almost every single class working with our newer and more experienced members and helping coach class.

    James is available for striking and jiu jitsu private lessons at your convenience!

  • Christina - instructor

    Christina Hanratty

    Women's Instructor / Blue Belt

    Christina is a blue belt in jiu jitsu here at Bataille. Christina's extensive public safety and martial arts background makes her a great resource for our women's self defense and women's martial arts program.

    We are excited to offer individual self defense lessons to women. Christina is available for private lessons, please reach out if you are interested.

  • Jon- instructor

    Jon Albar

    Kid's Instructor / Blue Belt

    Jon Albar is a blue belt in jiu jitsu and a mechanical engineer, Wim Hof Method instructor, and kids jiu jitsu coach. Jon started training martial arts with Muay Thai in 2010, and Jiu Jitsu in 2022. Jon is passionate about natural health protocols such as breathwork, cold and heat exposure, and physical exercise as tools for becoming better in all aspects of life. He runs breathwork and Wim Hof Method Workshops at his company Better Being. (www.betterbeing.live)

    At Rutgers University, Jon was the MindSET chair of the engineering student group, Tau Beta Pi. In this role, Jon hosted local middle schools with hands-on STEAM learning field trips. On top of this, Jon was an after-school basketball coach for kids aged 5-13. Every year, Jon speaks to students K-8 at their Lokai Rose summer camp experiences, teaching STEAM topics such as biomimicry.

    Jon is excited to help kids learn to protect themselves and others, developing important life lessons along the way.

    Dave Chokas

    MMA Coach

    Dave has a decade of experience in combat sports, starting in MMA and onto other disciplines such as boxing, Muay Thai, kickboxing and grappling. Currently enrolled in the jiu jitsu program here at Batallie, Dave has always had a passion for helping others around him and looks to pursue that in helping build our MMA program.
